Sois jeune et tais-toi

Be Young and Shut Up
BY Salomé Saqué

The new generation is tired of being mistreated by clichés. Eco-anxiety, mental health problems, lack of security… all these factors are preventing young people from projecting themselves calmly into the future. Faced with a significant environmental and social legacy, this generation is more terrified by the inertia of the ‘adult’ generations than by the environmental crisis. They are looking for ways to co-construct their world.

Over and above her anger, the author gives young people a voice and dismantles the clichés of a decadent youth on the basis of an in-depth analysis. She invites us to empathize with this generation and launches a cross-generational call to action. A rich and thought-provoking reading that changes the way we look at things.

“(…) Preserving a balance between personal and professional life. This in itself could also be seen as a political act: no longer putting the value of wor k at the heart of our lives, no longer making career and salary an absolute priority are questioning the productivity logic that has reigned since the 1960s”.
